Youth cheer team starting at YMCA

Heather Ford will teach exhibition cheer team classes at the Brown County YMCA, 105 Willow St., from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursdays through March.

The fee is $50 for the six-week session, plus a one-time uniform fee.

Team members will learn a competition-style routine, including tumbling, cheer and stunts.

The last 30 minutes of the first class will include a mandatory parent meeting to discuss uniforms and end-of-season showcase details.

There will be no class the week of spring break, March 21 to 25.

YMCA offering youth tumbling classes

Heather Ford will teach tumbling at the Brown County YMCA, 105 Willow St., to children ages 2 and older Feb. 23 through March, as follows:

  • Jungle gym, ages 2-4, 5:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, $35. This is a toddler/parent interactive class.
  • Beginner tumbling, ages 5 and older, 6 to 6:45 p.m. Tuesdays, $45. No experience needed.
  • Intermediate/advanced tumbling, ages 5 and older, 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Wednesdays, $60. Students must be able to perform a free-standing cartwheel.

There will be no class the week of spring break, March 21 to 25.

Yearlong youth wrestling practices offered

Registration is open for Brown County Parks & Recreation wrestling camp for kindergarten through fifth-grade students.

Wrestling camp is a yearlong program, starting Wednesday, March 2. Sessions will be Monday and Wednesday evenings through Dec. 28.

There is no registration deadline. Register anytime throughout the year, submitting forms and fees to the parks office at 1001 Deer Run Lane or online at bcparksrec.com.

Zumba classes free for YMCA members

The Brown County YMCA, 105 Willow St., offers a Zumba class from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

The class is free for YMCA members. A $3 drop-in fee applies for nonmembers.
