Marjorie M. (Schultz) Baird, 81, passed away peacefully Friday morning, March 11, 2016, at her home in Nashville. She was a former resident of Millersburg, Ohio.
Marjorie was born on Feb. 13, 1935, in Genoa, Illinois, to the late Fred H. and Agnes A. (Mueller) Schultz. She attended Dundee High School in Dundee, IL., and went on to marry Lloyd E. Baird on Oct. 17, 1954, in Dundee. Marjorie was retired from Owens of Illinois in Berlin, OH., as an inspector.
Marjorie loved life and brightened the day of everyone she met with her spunky personality. She spoke fondly of her life in Millersburg, where she lived until her move to Brown County in 2001. She was a former member of the American Legion Post #192 and the Bowling Association, both in Millersburg.
An avid bowler, Marjorie was proud of the merit awards and trophies her league won. She enjoyed reading James Patterson and Danielle Steele novels, visiting the local casinos and going to Las Vegas to play the slots. Marjorie was a 40-plus-year fan of “Days of Our Lives”, the Chicago Bears, Jeff Gordon with NASCAR and golfer Phil Mickelson. In later years she kept busy making beaded jewelry which she often gave as gifts to family and friends. Marjorie felt blessed to spend her later years in scenic Brown County with her daughter and granddaughter.
Marjorie will be missed by her children, Michael S. (Ruby) Baird of Millersburg, OH., Maureen (Tim) Bauer of Morgantown and Mark (Karen) Baird of Millersburg; grandchildren, Mindy (Robert) Weddle of Nashville, Chandra Farner of West Salem, OH., Dawn Shamp, Samuel, Rachel and Daniel Baird, all of Millersburg; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; siblings, Dorothy Smith and Richard F. Schultz; and infant granddaughter, Erin Beth Baird.
In keeping with Marjorie’s wishes, a private family gathering will be conducted in Millersburg, OH., at a later date. Cremation services are entrusted to Meredith–Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
