VAN BUREN TWP. — A Seymour couple were arrested after police discovered methamphetamine and paraphernalia in their vehicle Feb. 28.

Indiana Conservation Officers Joseph Tenbarge and Cpl. Brent Bohbrink were patrolling Sundance Lake in the Hoosier National Forest when they saw a vehicle in a parking lot, not in a parking space.

They reported seeing William Cook, 45, pulling his pants up and buttoning them while passenger Shaela Everidge, 45, quickly moved things inside the vehicle.

When asked what they were doing, Cook stuttered and mumbled “inaccurate information,” the probable cause affidavit said.

Cook told officers there was a “bulb,” or pipe, inside the vehicle with methamphetamine in it. He admitted to officers that he and Everidge were there to “have sex and get high.”

Everidge told officers her daughter lives with her, so she and Cook have to “sneak away.”

A search of their vehicle yielded the pipe, three syringes including one filled with liquid meth, a metal spoon with a cotton swab and meth residue on a metal clip, the affidavit said.

A loaded muzzleloader was also seized from the vehicle.

On March 7, Cook and Everidge were charged with unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
