Disc golf course opening with tournament this week

The new disc golf course at Deer Run Park will have its official grand opening from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 16.

Players of all experience levels and ages are welcome.

Disc golf is like a game of golf using Frisbees, thrown shorter distances than a golf ball is hit.

Prizes will be awarded to the top scores in each division. Brown County Parks and Recreation will sell food and drinks.

Dynamic Discs will bring a “mobile pro shop” to the tournament. Discs will be sold for $20 for two.

This is the first tournament to be played at the course at the county-owned park. Construction started last fall.

Parks and rec wrestling now open to K-12 students

The fee is $30 and includes a Brown County Wrestling T-shirt. Sign up at the parks and rec office on Deer Run Lane or at bcparksrec.com.

Younger students also can participate.

Wrestling camp for kindergarten through fifth-grade students takes place Monday and Wednesday evenings through Dec. 28. There is no registration deadline. Register anytime throughout the year, submitting forms and fees to the parks office or at bcparksrec.com.
