A Nashville man was arrested after deputies responded to a fraud complaint on Hoover Road April 1.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputies Andrew Eggebrecht and Wayne Robbins arrived at the home in the 3800 block of Hoover Road at around 8 p.m.

They saw William W. Spears, 46, driving a truck on the road. It was “immediately apparent” to deputies that Spears was “highly intoxicated,” according to a press release from the sheriff’s department.

The deputies also reported seeing alcohol containers in his truck, a probable cause affidavit said.

A breath test showed his blood-alcohol content to be 0.25, more than three times the legal limit.

On April 5, Spears was charged with three misdemeanors, but one was elevated to a Level 6 felony since he was charged with operating while intoxicated in Jackson County in April 2011.
