Bobbing for Hot Dogs, Fastest Fetch, Sneaker Sniffer: those are just a few of the games dogs will be playing at this year’s Dawg Gone Walk & Fiesta, a fundraiser for the Brown County Humane Society.
Join us Sunday, May 22 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at Eagle Park in Nashville for an afternoon of fun for humans and their furry canine companions. There will be games, contests, pampering stations, information booths, demonstrations and even shopping.
This year’s new location (Eagle Park in Nashville, on 46 East between the IGA and the north entrance to the park) means it will be even bigger and better.
There are plenty of contests, including Fastest Licker, Best Kisser, Best Costume, Biggest Dog, Wet T-shirt, Best Trick and more.
Demonstrations this year include Tim True from the Nashville Police Department K9 unit and Mercy Phillips from Rally Obedience Training. There will also be a shed dog demonstration, an increasingly popular activity where dogs are trained to search out shed antlers.
The games are fun for dogs of all sizes and abilities. For some dogs it’s an opportunity to show off their skills; for others, it’s a chance to just bask in the attention. Some of the games cost $1 each, so be sure to bring plenty of cash.
Of course, there will also be the walk: a parade of all of the dogs at the event and an opportunity for attendees to raise additional money to support the humane society. The two dogs that raise the most money are crowned as royalty and receive fantastic prize baskets.

Edna is the perfect dog for the Dawg Gone Walk & Fiesta. This 4-year-old Lab mix is high energy and super fun. Frisbees, balls, tug toys — she’ll fetch them all for as long as you’ll keep playing. She enjoys a pat on the head and exploring the creek, woods and fields. At the end of the day, a big fluffy bed makes Edna’s day complete. Edna will be a fantastic friend to an active, outdoorsy family.

EXTRA: First 125 dogs registered receive a goody bag full of toys, treats and surprises.
RULES: All dogs must be leashed; retractable leashes are not acceptable. Dogs must enjoy the company of other dogs and people. Dogs must be current on vaccinations.
