Vincennes dean’s list

VINCENNES — Jozey N. Akers and Carrie E. Luttrell, both of Nineveh, were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2016 semester at Vincennes University.

Akers’ major is physical education sports medicine with concentration in athletic training. Luttrell’s major is administrative office technology.

Dean’s list students must achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or better.

ROCK ISLAND, Illinois — Emily Handrahan of Nineveh earned a degree in biology from Augustana College May 22.

Tyler Cecil

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — U.S. Air Force Airman Tyler W. Cecil graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.

He completed eight weeks of training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

A 2015 graduate of Brown County High School, Cecil is the son of Christopher W. Cecil of Shelbyville.
