SWEETWATER LAKE — An 18-year-old was arrested and three other boys also tested positive for alcohol consumption after police were called to a party on Sweetwater Lake on May 31.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Jimmy Green was called to the 7100 block of Lion Drive where kids were reported to be yelling and throwing trash into the lake.

Green took a boat out and found four boys and two girls under age 21 swimming. All told him they were not yelling or throwing trash; he reported seeing water bottles in the water.

The group told Green they would keep it down and stay on their own property. But a short time later, Green was called again. This time, he found four of the six on top of the boat house ready to jump into the lake, his report said.

While speaking with Dominic M. Alvey, 18, Franklin, Green reported smelling alcohol on his breath.

Four of the six told Green they had been drinking that day and all six were given breath tests. Alvey’s blood-alcohol content was 0.11, more than the legal limit for a driver of 0.08, the report said.

The other three boys also tested positive for alcohol, but were below the legal limit, the report said.

The children’s parents were called to pick them up. Green’s report said they would have a meeting with juvenile probation and might appear in court.

Alvey was arrested and taken to the Brown County jail. On June 13, he was charged with illegal consumption of an alcoholic beverage, a Class C misdemeanor.
