A Nashville couple was arrested weeks after police said they attacked a Nashville man in his home.On June 24, Brown County sheriff’s deputies went to the 2300 block of Gatesville Road for a report of a battery. Deputy Josh Stargell reported that the victim told him Ryne T. Franks, 23, and Ashley L. Barger, 18, attacked him while he was sitting in a chair, then left in an Oldsmobile heading west on Gatesville Road.

The victim told Sgt. Mike Moore and Stargell that he was tired of Franks and Barger conducting illegal activities from his home. Both had the victim’s address listed as their home address on court paperwork.

Franks and Barger began packing their belongings and the victim said they “complained the entire time while doing it.” The victim made a comment to them and Barger came into the living room — where the man was sitting — and jumped on him and began scratching and hitting him, according to the probable cause affidavit.

One of the three witnesses stated that she was trying to hold Barger back when Franks came around them to punch the victim in the jaw, according to the affidavit.

The victim gave police a marijuana bong that he said belonged to Franks.

The couple was arrested on warrants July 6 at the same home.

On June 30, Barger and Franks were charged with battery resulting in bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor.
