ISU spring dean’s list

TERRE HAUTE — Indiana State University named the following area students to its dean’s list for the spring 2016 semester: Emily Brady, Arika Hamblen and Jessica Radtke, all of Nashville.

To be eligible for the list, students must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Taran Snodgress

BLOOMINGTON — Taran Snodgress has been named to the executive dean’s list of Indiana University’s College of Arts & Sciences for spring 2016 semester.

Taran, son of David and Sharon Snodgress of Nashville, is a senior majoring in theater and drama.

Rose Guingrich

BLOOMINGTON — Rose Guingrich has been named to Indiana University’s College of Arts & Sciences executive dean’s list for the spring 2016 semester. The list honors students who earned least a 3.7 grade-point average.

Rose, the daughter of Duane and Sharon Guingrich of Nashville, is studying psychology. She was the Brown County High School valedictorian for the class of 2015.

Purdue academic honors

WEST LAFAYETTE — Purdue University recognized the following area students with academic honors for the spring 2016 semester:

Nashville: Madeline E. Goris, Joshua A. Hotopp (Columbus campus), Shelby R. Ross (Calumet campus), Maxwell T. Teal, Morgan L. Manuel and Connor D. Guingrich;

Morgantown: Daniel J. Johnson (Columbus campus), Amber Woodrum (Calumet campus) and Zofia E. Spiegel;

Nineveh: Kelli R. Adolay, Sarah K. Elefson and Kristin J. Waldkoetter;

Trafalgar: Seth M. Lindley.

To earn honors, students must have had at least a 3.5 semester or cumulative grade-point average.

Purdue University degrees

WEST LAFAYETTE — The following students earned degrees from Purdue University after the spring 2016 semester:

  • Kelli R. Adolay of Nineveh received a bachelor’s degree from the College of Liberal Arts.
  • Jesse Colin Burton of Nineveh received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the College of Engineering Technology at IUPUI.
  • Madeline Erickson Goris of Nashville received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the School of Chemical Engineering.
  • Brandon D. Johnson of Nashville received a bachelor’s degree from the Polytechnic Institute in Columbus.
  • Daniel J. Johnson of Morgantown received a bachelor’s degree from the College of Technology in Columbus.
  • Morgan L. Manuel of Nashville received a bachelor’s degree from the College of Education.
  • Alice L. Merryman of Nashville received a bachelor’s degree from the College of Agriculture.
  • Emily Ann Sterneman of Nineveh received a bachelor’s degree from the College of Liberal Arts.

IUPUC dean’s list

COLUMBUS — Indiana University-Purdue University named the following area students to the dean’s list for the spring 2016 semester:

Morgantown: Chayli Dakota Brock and Maggie Elizabeth Evans;

Nashville: Mallory Dawn Baker, Amy Joan Gill, Lori Noel Haggard, Lydia Brooke Inman, Brennen David Maus, Brad Aaron Olivo, Amanda Smith, John Hayden Smith and Christine Yvonne Sullivan;

Nineveh: Charles Christian Kuhfahl, Jessica Lynn Morgan and Stephanie Shipley.

To receive the honor, students must have earned at least a 3.7 term grade-point average.

Michael Schrimper

BOSTON, Massachusetts — Brown County native Michael Schrimper has a new story, “Diversity,” appearing in August in The Cortland Review.

Affiliated faculty at Emerson College, where he teaches in the Writing, Literature & Publishing Department, Schrimper has spent the past three years screening fiction at “Ploughshares,” one of the country’s most esteemed literary journals.

Ball State dean’s list

MUNCIE — Ball State University included the following Brown County students on the dean’s list during the spring 2016 semester:

Morgantown: Hannah Partridge and Shelby Smith;

Nashville: Collin Graeber and Michael Hess;

Nineveh: Alex Morgan.
