Anniversary: Woods’ 55th

John and Adella “Skip” Wood will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary this month.

They were married July 28, 1961, in Anderson, by the Rev. Joe Espy. John and Skip reside in Fruitdale.

They will celebrate in mid-July with a trip down the Mississippi and Ohio rivers on the American Queen steamship.

Prior to retirement, John was a supervisor with Delco Remy in Anderson. Skip was the display supervisor with J.C. Penney in Anderson. She is a past member of Psi Iota Xi philanthropic sorority.

The couple enjoy membership in the Corvette Club of Columbus, and John is the treasurer of the Brown County Lions Club.

They have two children, Richard Wood of Charleston, South Carolina, and Randie Essex of Westfield; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
