Photography club
The Brown County Photography Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9 at the Brown County Library, 205 N. Locust Lane. The club is open to anyone interested in photography.
Meetings the second Tuesday of each month include photo shares and tech tips. The club also schedules one photography day trip each month and exhibits work in local venues several times each year. For more information, visit Facebook.
Rotary Club
Rotarian Mike Laros, chairman of the Nashville and Brown County Broadband Task Force, will present an update of progress and challenges in bringing high-speed Internet to wider areas of Brown County when the Brown County Rotary Club meets Thursday, Aug. 11.
The breakfast meeting begins at 7:15 a.m. in Nashville’s Artists Colony Inn, 105 S. Van Buren St. The public is welcome.
Genealogical society
At 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, the Brown County Genealogical Society will meet at the Brown County Public Library, 205 Locust Lane.
Several members will share experiences of getting DNA tested through Ancestry.com and the results. Visitors are welcome.
Widowed group
The Brown County Widowed Group will meet Saturday, Aug. 13 at the Sycamore Valley community center at the fairgrounds. The topic of discussion will be relatives or close friends who have influenced our lives but have passed.
The group will sponsor euchre parties at the center at 1 p.m. Tuesdays, Aug. 23 and Sept. 13.

Cemetery preservation society
At 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, a newly formed group, the Brown County Cemetery Preservation Society, will meet in a lower-level meeting room of the Brown County Public Library, 205 Locust Lane.
The speaker will be Jeannie Regan Dinius, Indiana Department of Natural Resources director of special initiatives. She will talk about state cemetery laws.
The society is working to update cemetery records, preserve and restore tombstones and cemeteries and to bring the county’s history to life. A grant received from the Brown County Community Foundation will be used to restore of tombstones made by Henry Cross.

Rock and mineral club
Brown County Rock & Mineral Club members are seeking quality vendors of rocks, minerals, gems and jewelry for a rock and mineral show/swap, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at the Brown County History Center, 90 E. Gould St.
