A teenager who police say slashed tires on multiple vehicles in his neighborhood on Artist and Wells drives July 29 has been charged with 41 counts of criminal mischief. All are misdemeanors.

Lavelle Albert, 18, still is in the Brown County jail on $2,500 bond. He was arrested July 30.

Twenty-seven victims of tire slashing were counted after police fanned out in the downtown Nashville neighborhood starting around 5 a.m. July 29. Wreckers hauling vehicles traveled back and forth constantly for several hours that morning.

Albert’s trial was set for 9 a.m. Sept. 28 in Brown Circuit Court.
