Widowed group

The Brown County Widowed Group will sponsor a euchre party at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Sycamore Valley Community Center, 746 Memorial Drive at the fairgrounds.

Friends of BCSP

The Friends of Brown County Park will have their Oct. 5 meeting at the home of Wayne O’Hara on Jackson Branch Road. In keeping with the state parks centennial, the history of Col. Lieber’s time in Brown County and the historic marker will be the program.

All are welcome for a pitch-in dinner at 6:30 p.m., bring a dish to share and table service. Call Don Stephenson at 812-988-1952 for more information.

Woodworkers club

VAN BUREN TWP. — The Brown County Woodworkers Club will meet at Mark Schaffer‘s workshop at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5.

As the shop can be difficult to find, Charlie Roush will be at Van Buren Elementary School, 4045 State Road 135 South, and will leave to caravan to the shop at 6:30 p.m.

A sign will be posted at the turnoff to Schaffer’s workshop on Becks Grove Road, about 300 feet south of the end of Poplar Grove Road.

Retired teachers

Brown County Retired Teachers will meet Tuesday, Oct. 11 at the Brown County Inn. A noon lunch may be reserved by contacting Dot Owen or Sandy Ackerman. The cost is $15. Supertendent of Brown County Schools Laura Hammack will give the program.

Photography club

The Brown County Photography Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the Brown County Public Library, 205 N. Locust Lane.

The club is open to anyone interested in photography. Meetings the second Tuesday of each month include photo shares and tech tips. The club also schedules one photography day trip each month and exhibits work in local venues several times each year.

Preservation society

At 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, the Brown County Cemetery Preservation Society, will meet in a lower-level meeting room of the Brown County Public Library, 205 Locust Lane.
