Linda Sage

Local printmaker Linda Sage has been accepted into several national and international art competitions and shows.

Her piece “Yearning to Breathe Free” was included in the 29th Annual Women’s Works in Woodstock, Illinois, in March and April. Sage’s etching also won an honorable mention at the Brown County Art Guild Senior Show in January.

In September, two of her works were shown in Louisville, Colorado. They were “The Buggymaker” and “Bee and Cowslip,” both copperplate engravings. The former, a portrait of her great-grandfather in front of his buggyworks, was included in the Indiana Heritage Arts Show in 2015.

Two wood engravings have been accepted to a show in Woodstock, Illinois, in October; the exhibit explores the meaning of fearlessness. Sage’s pieces are titled “She Says” and “She Fights.”

A show in Topeka, Kansas, has accepted the etching, “Yearning to Breathe Free” for an exhibit in November and December.

Sage is a master’s graduate of the State University of Iowa. She also took lithography work at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and printmaking at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She engraves and etches metal and wood, and experiments with Solarplate printmaking in her Brown County studio. She is a member of Indiana Heritage Arts and the Brown County Art Guild.
