The Cari Ray Trio will finish this year’s Pavilion Music Series from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Village Green Pavilion in Nashville.

The trio consists of Cari Ray, Chuck Wills and Dionne Ward. Ray is a songwriter and storyteller who plays blues folk, ragtime and some old-time country music.

Her third and most recent release, “Swagger,” is produced by local country-blues musician The Reverend Peyton of Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band.

Ray recently finished a multi-city tour across Florida, Georgia and Alabama. Her track, “It’s About Me,” won the blues songwriting competition at the 2015 Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival.

Before the concert, Brown County Habitat for Humanity will stage its final pie auction at 3:30 p.m. on the Village Green, featuring a variety of pies from local bakers.

Sherrie Houze, director of Mother’s Cupboard Community Kitchen, is one of the dozen bakers who are submitting pies for the final pie auction of the year. She’s making two alligator pies.

One will be a savory pie made with fillet cuts of Louisiana gator and Cajun spices. The starting bid will be $100 with the winner also receiving an alligator hat.

The dessert alligator pie is inspired by the Canadian poet Dennis Lee and an alligator pie book also will be awarded to the highest bidder.

All are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and their appetites on Saturday, said Sandie Jones, Habitat for Humanity board and publicity committee member.
