A Gold Point Road man was arrested Oct. 2 after police say he chased a 12-year-old and grabbed the child’s arm, causing “extreme pain,” swelling and inability to move it.

Aaron R. Patterson, 38, struck and grabbed the child after he chased the child out of the house and then back inside, according to a probable cause affidavit by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Eggebrecht.

Four people reported witnessing the incident.

Eggebrecht also arrested Patterson on a disorderly conduct charge after he refused to stop yelling at another man at the scene, the report said.

Patterson was charged Oct. 3 with battery resulting in bodily injury to a person less than 14 years of age, a Level 5 felony; domestic battery resulting in bodily injury to a person less than 14 years of age, a Level 5 felony; domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor.
