The Brown County School Board of Trustees approved the following Oct. 6 and 20:
- Separating Brown County Junior High School wrestling coach Colton Sample effective immediately. This was not a termination.
- Separating Brown County High School assistant wrestling coach Billy Grimes effective immediately. This was not a termination.
- Separating BCHS dance coach Wrenn Clark effective Oct. 18. This was not a termination.
- Separating Van Buren Elementary School technology coach Erica Garman, effective Oct. 28. This was not a termination. Amanda Austin was appointed to replace her with a $1,484 stipend.
- Transferring Garman, VBES third- and fourth-grade math teacher, to BCIS business/digital citizenship and fifth-grade art teacher effective Oct. 31. Austin, VBES science teacher, was transferred to replace Garman in math, effective Oct. 26.
- Separating Austin as VBES technology leader. This was not a termination. Bonnie Walling was appointed to replace her, $1,114 stipend, effective Oct. 19.
- Separating VBES speech-language pathologist Denise Croft, effective immediately. This was not a termination.
- Appointing Judith Hamilton to cover a 16-day medical leave of absence for VBES teacher Debbie Neptune, Dec. 15 to Jan. 20. Hamilton will be paid one day of observation and planning at a sub rate of $70 Dec. 14, then begin at a daily master’s degree-plus-five rate of $236.82 for 16 days.
- Appointing BCIS technology coach Karena Sarber, $1,484 stipend, effective Oct. 31. She is a replacement for Nicole Wells.
- Appointing BCIS History Day coach Lauren Lockdall, split position with Mary Kurdziel, $434 stipend, effective Oct. 31. She is a replacement for Wells.
- Appointing BCJHS seventh-grade girls basketball coach Joseph Treesh, $2,302 stipend. He is a replacement for Emily Lewellen.
- Switching the jobs of BCIS sixth-grade girls basketball coach Kathryn Lane and BCIS fifth-grade girls basketball coach Ryan Oliver.
- Approving a “mini grant” from the Brown County Soil and Water Conservation District, not to exceed $1,505.80, to Helmsburg Elementary School. The funds will be used to establish a pollinator garden outside of the HES science lab.
