Lori Haggard

COLUMBUS — Lori Haggard of Nashville, a student at Indiana University Purdue University Columbus, has received a $1,000 Robert C. Traylor Scholarship.

Twenty-six scholarships are funded by donors totaling more than $25,000 for the 2016-2017 academic year.

Sharon Walters

Sharon Walters of Nashville was recognized as the winner of the Brown County 4-H Bright Futures Award. She received a $25 Visa gift card and plaque. The 4-H Youth Development Award was sponsored by Green Leaf and Tractor Supply.

Walters is a member of the 4-H Gang club, and was selected for the award for her project work in gardening.

Jason Lee

Indiana Conservation Officer Capt. Jason Lee has been appointed to Operations Major. He will provide statewide supervision and oversight of the operational needs of the 10 conservation districts and two regions.

Lee began his career in 1998 as a field officer assigned to Johnson County, later transferring to Brown County. He was promoted to District 6 lieutenant in 2009 before being promoted to South Region captain in 2011. He is a 2014 graduate of the FBI National Academy and a 2016 graduate of the Police Executive Leadership Academy.
