James E. “Jim” Staten, 70, of Freetown, died Sunday evening, Nov. 13, 2016, at home.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Gail” (Beasley) Staten; children, John (Brenda) Shore of Seymour and Jessica Pfeiffer of Medora; sister, Anita Fry of Indianapolis; and two grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Dobbs Cemetery in Brown County.

Funeral arrangements are with Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
