Police patrols to increase for holiday travel

At least 10 local police officers will join more than 250 state and local law enforcement agencies to conduct patrols encouraging drivers and passengers to buckle up and drive sober during the Thanksgiving travel season.

Nashville Police Department Assistant Chief Tim True said town and county officers will work overtime conducting patrols Nov. 11 to Dec. 4.

This is an annual, statewide effort supported by federal funding allocated to the Brown County Traffic Safety Partnership from the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
