Betty 'Kay' McLeod obit mugBetty “Kay” McLeod, 79, of Greasy Creek Road in Nashville, passed away at 8 a.m., Feb. 24, 2017, at St. Vincent Inpatient Hospice in Indianapolis.

Kay was born Dec. 7, 1937, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Edward and Gladys Osborn Leet. She married Keith McLeod on Nov. 18, 1956.

Kay worked for Shelbyville Central Schools where she was employed as a secretary and secretary to the superintendent before retiring as the treasurer. She also worked in the Brown County Art Gallery. Kay loved to quilt, and was a member of Pioneer Women and The Quilts in Brown County. She was a member of Nashville Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Keith McLeod; sons, Kevin McLeod of Shelbyville and Kyle (Norma) McLeod of Columbus; a daughter, Kelly (Dan) Bowers of Brandon, Mississippi; grandchildren, Ian McLeod, Coleman McLeod, Marlee (Andrew) Brunni, Joseph Peters, Sydney Bowers, Aaron Bowers, Adam Bowers, and Sarah Bowers; and a great-grandchild, Ava McLeod.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Her funeral will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Jewell–Rittman Family Funeral Home, 3855 25th St. in Columbus, with Pastor John Armstrong officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
