A Jackson Township man was arrested after police say he drove drunk and caused a crash on State Road 135 North Jan. 31.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Brian Shrader found Macklin Brian Arnold, 54, of North Lawson Road, near the wrecked vehicle at about 11 p.m. Arnold admitted driving it and Shrader reported smelling alcohol on him, the police report says.

A chemical test administered at the Brown County jail about an hour after the accident showed his blood-alcohol content to be 0.20, more than twice the legal limit.

He was charged Feb. 2 with operating a vehicle while intoxicated — endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor; operating a vehicle with an ACE of 0.15 or more, a Class A misdemeanor; and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor.
