Our Folks: New pastor at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church

BEAN BLOSSOM — The Rev. Phil Meadows was installed as the new pastor Sept. 21, 2014, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church (LCMS), 5802 State Road 135 North.

Meadows serves the church on a half-time basis, including offering marriage and family counseling. He can be heard on Columbus FM radio stations, the Bridge 90.3 and WYGS, daily with a one-minute gospel message. He also leads a half-hour radio Bible study Friday mornings at 9:30 a.m. on Bridge 90.3 radio.

Prior to entering public ministry, Meadows worked for 25 years as an electrical engineer. He has engineering degrees from Northeastern University in Boston and Purdue University in West Lafayette. He taught freshman- and sophomore-level electronics courses for six years on the Columbus campus.

He is a graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne with a master’s degree in divinity. Meadows served in northeast Kansas and Wyoming before retiring from full-time ministry.

He and his wife, Jan live in Edinburgh. They have three adult children and seven grandchildren. Meadows is an avid woodworker and also holds an amateur radio license, AC9BR.
