Rotary club

Courtney Gosser and Barry Herring have made changes to the Brown County Inn. They will talk to the Brown County Rotary Club about their ongoing plans at 7:15 a.m., Thursday, April 20, in Nashville’s Artists Colony Inn, 105 S. Van Buren St. The public is welcome to the breakfast meeting.

Rotarian Scott Dedomenic is coordinating the local Rotary Club’s programs in April with an emphasis on business.

Literary club

The Nashville Literary Club will meet at Willow Manor, 72 Willow St., at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 20. Lee Edgren will lead a discussion of “The Trespasser: A Novel” by Tana French. Hostesses are Barb Newton and Vicki Bennett.

WRAPS

The Writers Readers and Poets Society meets from 7 to 9 p.m. first and third Thursdays each month to read and discuss the literary compositions of those present. Meetings are at the Brown County Public Library, 205 N. Locust Lane. All are welcome.

Lions club

Lions membership is open to all who like to work on service projects. Upcoming events include:

  • Saturday, May 6, the Spring Blossom Parade in downtown Nashville;
  • Saturday, May 13, spring pancake breakfast at Parkview Church of the Nazarene Family Life Center, 1750 State Road 46 East; and
  • Tuesday, July 4, annual fireworks display at the Brown County High School track with scheduled rain date. Contributions to the fireworks last year (cancelled due to bad weather and no set rain date) were held onto for 2017.

Herb society

The Brown County Herb Society meets at 6:30 p.m. the third Monday of each month in the lower level of the Brown County Public Library. The next meeting is May 15. Anyone interested in herbs and their uses is welcome.

Woodturners club

UNIONVILLE — The Village Woodturners, a group that focuses on projects made by wood lathe, meets at 7 p.m. second Wednesdays every other month. The next meeting will be June 14. For directions, contact Don Housman at 812-720-1174 or [email protected].
