Letters: Teen asks for trail leading to Deer Run Park next

0

To the editor:

I think that the Salt Creek Trail connecting to Deer Run Park should be a first priority instead of last.

The next phases of the trail project include trails to Eagle Park and the state park. We don’t need kids walking the Salt Creek Trail then going to Eagle Park, and then going on to Brown County State Park alone, because it’s too far from town and you will need to carry a state park pass.

Deer Run Park is near town and kids want to have a safe trail to get there. Deer Run Park has basketball, frisbee golf, a jogging trail, playground equipment, a shelter and space for recreational activities.

Kids are walking to Deer Run Park now and they are walking on an unsafe, blind-curved road heavy with traffic.

Please consider the safety of your Nashville children.

Sincerely,

Parker Scott, age 15, Brown County
