Darrel Ervin Kramer, 82, of Nashville, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.

He was born June 8, 1934, in Lead, South Dakota, son of the late Ervin L. and Bernice Wiezorek Kramer. Darrel spent 13 years in the United States Air Force and then worked with the Department of the Navy as a civilian. He also worked for Cummins Engine Company and then retired from MTS Systems Corp. After retirement he began his own company, Somerset Technical Services.

Darrel belonged to the Brown County Lions Club and Friends of Brown County State Park. Family and friends were his greatest joy.

Darrel is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janet (Linder) Kramer; his three daughters, Jennilea Kramer and Jerrilyn (husband, Mickey) Kean, both of Bloomington, and Darla JoAnne (husband, Jim) Gilleland of Centerville, Ohio; a son, Jason A. Kramer of Nashville, Indiana; grandchildren, Aaron, Aeriale, Mollie, Andrew, Zoe and Kristopher; great-granddaughters, Victoria and Ella; and his brother, Gary (wife, Mary) Kramer of West Des Moines, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Kramer.

A celebration of life will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 4 at the Upper Shelter House in Brown County State Park.
