Girls basketball makes state record list

The Brown County High School 2016-17 girls varsity basketball team has been added to the “Hickory Husker Book of Indiana High School Basketball Records.”

The team is ranked No. 1 for most overtime wins in a season for a girls team, at four.

Leigh Evans of Greenwood started the list in 1998. This is the only mention of any Brown County High School basketball team or player on it.

Local woman finishes Boston Marathon

BOSTON, Massachusetts — One runner in the Boston Marathon April 17 hailed from Nashville.

Kathy Yeager, 55, finished the race 9,523th among all women runners and 494th in the female 55-59 division.
