Where to find fireworks shows

The Brown County Lions Club’s and Cordry-Sweetwater Volunteer Fire Department’s fireworks shows will light up the sky on opposite ends of Brown County Saturday, July 1. Both shows start at dusk, which is around 9:15 p.m.

Here’s where you can find other shows this holiday weekend within less than an hour’s drive of Nashville:

June 30

Bloomington: Bloomington Speedway Annual Fireworks Spectacular, 5185 S. Fairfax Road. Starts with racing at 7:30 p.m., fireworks at dusk. Cost is $15 for adults, free for kids 12 and younger with paying adult.

Edinburgh: Sparks in the Park, Johnson County Park amphitheater, 7105 S. Kern St. Starts with music at 6:30 p.m., train rides by the Indiana Live Steamers from 7 to 8 p.m., fireworks at dusk. Cost is $5 for the concert with kids 12 and under free; fireworks show is free. Information: jocoparks.com.

July 1

Cordry-Sweetwater: Sweetwater Beach, Sunset Drive, dusk, free, donations accepted for fire department.

Nashville: Brown County High School football field, East Main Street, dusk, free, donations accepted for Lions Club. Rain date is July 4.

Bloomington: Monroe County Fairgrounds, 5700 W. Airport Road. Gates open at 5 p.m. for cars participating in cruise-in; food and entertainment throughout evening and fireworks at dusk, free, donations accepted. Car show information: Tonya Clark, 812-327-3634.

Bargersville: Red, White & Blueberry Festival, Mallow Run Winery, 6964 W. Whiteland Road. Starts with music from 1 to 4 p.m. by Andra Faye and Scott Ballantine, The Big 80s from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and fireworks at 8:30, free.

July 2

Lake Lemon: Lakeside, 7599 N. Tunnel Road, 9:45 p.m., free. Rain date is July 3.

July 3

Monroe Lake: Fourwinds Lakeside Inn & Marina, Fairfax State Recreation Area, accessible from State Road 37 or South Walnut Street, 10 p.m. Cost is $7 per vehicle with Indiana license plate and $9 per vehicle with out-of-state plate. Information: 812-824-2628.

Bloomington: Southside Christian Church, 500 E. Empire Mill Road, dusk, free.

Franklin: Franklin Firecracker Festival, downtown Franklin, 6 to 10:30 p.m., free. Information: franklin.in.gov.

July 4

Ellettsville: Edgewood High School football field, 601 Edgewood Drive, dusk, free, donations accepted for fire department. Rain date is July 8.
