daugherty 246787 obit mugCarrie M. Daugherty, 92, of Nashville, formerly of Elwood, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, at her residence in Nashville, IN.

Carrie was born on November 18, 1924, to the late Clair and Eunice (Mock) Meyer. On Aug. 7, 1945, she married the love of her life, Dale Daugherty. Carrie retired in 1974, from Delco, after 31 years of service. She was a member of the U.A.W. No. 662; Orestes Christian Church where she was deaconess and secretary; Order of Eastern Star No. 71 and past Matron; and a member of the Past Matrons Club. Carrie enjoyed quilting and all of her quilts were donated to the Missionary Project and Orphanages Around the World. She loved spending time with her family.

Carrie is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline (Larry) Himelick of Nashville, IN; brother, Charles Meyer of Jonesboro, IN; three granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; and two great-grandsons.

Carrie was preceded in death by her father, Clair Meyer; mother, Eunice Meyer; husband, Dale; and one granddaughter, Shawna Himelick.

A funeral service celebrating Carrie’s life will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at Dunnichay Funeral Home in Elwood, with the Rev. Stan Loutner of Parkview Church of the Nazarene in Nashville, IN, officiating. Eastern Star services will start the services. Burial will follow in Forrestville Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson St., Elwood, Indiana.
