VAN BUREN TWP. — A woman was flown out of Brown County State Park last week after she was thrown off a horse, the sheriff’s department said.

The 69-year-old woman was riding on a trail at the park. The incident was reported as a medical emergency to dispatch at around 2:15 p.m. Aug. 10. It’s unclear whether or not the woman was riding her own horse.

The woman had a broken arm, a head/face injury and was bleeding from the nose. She was in and out of consciousness, the sheriff’s department reported.

In addition to the medical helicopter, EMS 7 and the Van Buren Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
