SPRUNICA — A Brown County man who was involved in a crash July 24 had more than three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system, police say.

A clerk at a Nashville gas station told police that after the crash, Robert Ray Holland Jr., 26, of Glenview Lane, had followed her into the gas station and she took his keys from him.

It was unclear in the probable cause affidavit where the accident took place. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Jackson reported the crash occurred at around midnight, but police didn’t respond to the gas station until around 2:30 a.m.

Jackson reported smelling alcohol on Holland, that his speech was slurred and his balance was unstable.

A breath test showed his blood-alcohol content to be 0.27, the report said.

Holland was charged with three misdemeanors on July 31.
