Paul E. Hatchett

NASHVILLE

Paul E. Hatchett, age 75, passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. He was a lifelong resident of Nashville.

Paul was born Oct. 6, 1941, in Nashville, to the late James “Wes” Wesley and Martha (Pruitt) Hatchett. He married Andrea L. (McNew) on Feb. 13, 1960 in Nashville. She preceded him in death on March 29, 1998 after 38 loving years of marriage.

Paul worked for the town of Nashville as a crew operator and retired in 2000 after 27 years of service to the community. He enjoyed his job so much that he never considered it to be work. In his spare time, Paul enjoyed fishing and meeting friends at Brownie’s Restaurant in Bean Blossom. Paul also enjoyed watching Indiana University basketball and NASCAR with Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Sr. being his favorite drivers.

Paul is survived by his children, Paula (Herbert) Minton of Morgantown and Rick (Michelle) Hatchett of Columbus; brother, Bernard (Jenny) Hatchett of Nashville; five grandchildren, Rachel Allender of Morgantown, Wesely Hatchett and Chris Allender, both of Columbus, Herb Minton Jr. and James Minton, both of Nashville; and five great-grandchildren, Mckayla, Sarah, Mason and Jacob Osbourn and Blaine Minton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Andrea; and sister, Louise Law.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7 at Duncan Cemetery in Brown County.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation and Personalization Center in Morgantown.
