HAMBLEN TWP. — A 56-year-old Brown County man was taken to the hospital Oct. 4 after police responded to a report of an overdose on Bittersweet Lake Lane.

Police responded to the home at around 9:30 p.m., according to an incident report by Sgt. Scott Bowling with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department. Hamblen Volunteer Fire Department Capt. Justin Griffith was already on the scene and in the back bedroom with the man. Griffith said he had given the man two doses of naloxone, the police report said.

Bowling reported that the man was “awake, but groggy.” He reported hearing the man tell Griffith that he took heroin.

EMS took the man to a hospital.

No one had been formally charged with a crime related to this incident as of press time.
