A ribbon-cutting celebration for the Village Green Revitalization Project will take place from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27.

The all-ages play space at West Main and Jefferson streets has been under construction for a year. Elements include a children’s stage, a log hop, an interactive iron fence, and game tables on the porch of the Village Green Restrooms.

The Brown County Rotary Club restored the old town pump on the corner; and a kiosk has been placed at the site to help visitors navigate.

Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch and other dignitaries will be present.

Town Manager Scott Rudd said a broadband internet announcement also will be made at the event.

Afterward, the town will unveil a public art piece at Franklin and Jefferson.
