Woman, child OK after rollover crash

PEOGA — A woman and child were not injured in an early-morning crash Nov. 3 when their vehicle overturned on Spearsville Road.

Courtney Mathis, 24, Nashville, told police she was driving north on Spearsville Road near Clarence Arnold Road when her passenger side tires went off the edge of the road at around 6 a.m., according to an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Colton Magner.

Mathis overcorrected and hit the bank on the west side of Spearsville Road, causing her 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt to overturn, the report states.

Mathis had scratches on her legs, but did not report any injuries. The child was not injured. Both were checked out by EMS and Mathis refused any further treatment.

Mathis said the child was in a car seat. She was holding the child when police arrived on scene, according to the report.

Her vehicle was towed.
