GIRLS BASKETBALL

Nov. 14

Brown County 56, Hauser 30

BC: 19 8 16 13 — 56

H: 8 7 8 7 — 30

Brown Co. (3-1, 0-0 WIC East): Dasia Wilkerson 3 FG, 1-2 FT, 7 pts.; Allison Stogsdill 4 FG, 1-3 FG, 3-4 FT, 14 pts.; Anna Fleetwood 3 FG, 1-2 FT, 7 pts.; Aubrey Hollander 5 FG, 6-8 ft, 16 pts.; Gracie Matlock 2 FG, 2-4 FT, 6 pts.; Savannah Lovins 1 FG, 2-2 FT, 4 pts.; Abigail Hollander 1 FG, 2 pts.

Coach’s comments: The Eagles came out strong against the Jets and never looked back as they picked up their third straight win 56 to 30. Brown County used its stingy defense to cause numerous turnovers that led to easy conversions on the other end to open up the lead. Hauser tempered the momentum a bit in the second quarter to keep the game within 12 at the half. But the Eagles came out of the locker room strong and weathered some foul trouble with a solid third quarter to put the game out of reach. Aubrey Hollander led a balanced scoring attack with a season-high 16 points followed by Allison Stogsdill, 14, Anna Fleetwood, 7, Dasia Wilkerson, 7, and Gracie Matlock, 6. Next up for Brown County is a trip to Northview on Friday.

Nov. 17

Northview 43, Brown County 32

BC: 10 6 7 9 — 32

N: 9 9 13 12 — 43

Brown Co. (3-2, 0-0 WIC East): Dasia Wilkerson 2 FG, 1-2 FT, 5 pts.; Allison Stogsdill 1 FG, 1-4 FT, 3 pts.; Anna Fleetwood 2 FG, 1-2 FT, 5 pts.; Aubrey Hollander 5 FG, 1-2 FT, 11 pts.; Gracie Matlock 2 FG, 2-4 FT, 6 pts.; Kathleen McCann 3-6 FT, 3 pts.

Coach’s comments: The Eagles battled a tough Northview squad down to the wire but came up short in a 32-43 loss. Brown County’s defense kept them in the game as they struggled from the field. Northview’s nine-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter proved too much to overcome.
