Spend Thanksgiving with neighbors

If you have no one to share Thanksgiving with this year, if money is a little tight, or if one dinner just isn’t enough for your schedule, the Brown County EMT Association wants you at their table.

A community Thanksgiving dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 23 at the Brown County High School cafeteria. No reservations are necessary, and everyone is welcome.

The Brown County EMT Association has organized the dinner for 35 years.

Volunteers want to see everyone come out to share a free meal.

TRIAD will deliver meals to the homebound if a request is made by Tuesday, Nov. 21. To get on a list, call the EMT Association at 812-988-7808 or TRIAD at 812-988-5606.

Volunteers are needed on the day of the dinner to prepare and serve the meal and clean up. To offer help, call one of the numbers above.

Monetary donations will be accepted before and after the dinner at People’s State Bank, in care of “EMT Thanksgiving Dinner.”

Donations are also welcome at the door.

Any money received that isn’t needed to pay for the dinner will be donated to the No-Name Committee, which will give food and clothing vouchers to local families this year.
