A Brown County teen has been charged with dealing marijuana for the second time this year after police stopped a vehicle he was driving for a moving violation on Nov. 12.

Benjamin W. Voils IV, 18, was stopped by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Eggebrecht, and Eggebrecht reported finding less than 30 grams of marijuana in his possession, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Eggebrecht also found glass smoking pipe with residue inside; a digital scale; more than $100 in cash; and a couple of clean, unused baggies, according to the affidavit.

After discovering the items, Eggebrecht read Voils his Miranda Rights and Voils told him he occasionally distributed marijuana to friends, the affidavit states.

Volis was charged Nov. 16 with dealing in marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor; possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.

The Brown County prosecutor’s office filed all three charges against him in April as well. He is to appear in court in February to change his plea in that case, according to online court records.
