A Brown County man faces a felony for driving while intoxicated after he drove to his probation appointment drunk Nov. 30, police say.

Nashville Police Chief Ben Seastrom reported in a probable cause affidavit that he responded to the probation department at around 11:30 a.m. and reported smelling alcohol on Cody D. Reeves, 23. Reeves had told his probation officer that he had driven to the appointment.

Seastrom said he also saw Reeves drive to the courthouse the wrong way down a one-way street on a video. A breath test showed his blood-alcohol content to be 0.08, which is the legal limit for a driver, according to the affidavit.

Reeves was charged Dec. 11 with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor, and operating a vehicle with an blood-alcohol content of 0.08 or more, a Class C misdemeanor. Both counts were elevated to Level 6 felonies because Reeves had been convicted of driving drunk in Owen County in 2015.
