A man who was stopped for driving left of center and speeding Dec. 15 was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

At 1 a.m., Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Eggebrecht stopped a vehicle driven by Derek J. Anderson, 21, of Madison on State Road 46. Eggebrecht reported smelling alcohol on Anderson, that his speech was slow, his eyes were bloodshot and he was driving at an “excessive speed.”

A breath test showed his blood-alcohol content to be 0.119, the report said. Anderson was charged with three misdemeanors on Dec. 18.
