A Hope man was issued a court summons on Nov. 23 after police stopped him for crossing the center line and reported smelling marijuana in his vehicle.

Nashville Police Officer Michael Williams stopped Noah C. Miller, 20, on State Road 46 East near the Brown County Law Enforcement Center after seeing him cross the center line west of the Hawthorne Drive intersection, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Williams reported smelling marijuana from the passenger side of the vehicle. When asked if there was marijuana in the vehicle, Miller said no, but he later said there was bong under some clothes in the rear passenger seat, the report said.

Williams reported he did not find any other illegal items. Miller was issued a summons and released from the scene.

He was charged with possession of paraphernalia, Class C misdemeanor, on Dec. 8.
