A 70-year-old Nashville man was injured in a crash in Brown County State Park on Feb. 16 after a deer jumped in front of his vehicle.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Austin Schonfeld reported that Charles Hessman was southbound on the main road in the park just before 9 p.m. when a deer ran in the road, causing him to go off the east side and strike a tree.

Hessman had minor bleeding on his head and possibly a concussion. He was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

He was wearing a seat belt. His vehicle was towed from the scene.
