Bench warrant arrest results in meth charges

VAN BUREN TWP. — A Brown County man arrested on a bench warrant March 3 faces an additional felony charge after police reported finding methamphetamine on him while arresting him.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Colton Magner served the bench warrant on Gregory D. Gossett, 47, at a home in the 9900 block of State Road 135 South.

Magner reported finding less than five grams of a white powdery substance that he believed to be methamphetamine in one of his pockets, according to the affidavit. The subject was sent to the Indiana State Police laboratory for testing.

Gossett was taken to the Brown County jail. He was charged March 5 with possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony.
