Man faces misdemeanor for disorderly conduct

HAMBLEN TWP. — A man and a woman who were arguing at a home on Sweetwater Trail both pointed fingers at the other for busting the windshield out of a truck with a rock.

Steppin Quillen, 42, was initially arrested on a charge of domestic battery in the presence of a minor on March 11.

He was formally charged on March 12 with disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor.

Police responded to a home in the 5800 block of Sweetwater Trail for a report of a physical domestic disturbance on March 11. Brown County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Moore reported that Quillen and a woman at the home both stated that the other threw a rock that busted out the windshield of Quillen’s truck.

The woman had abrasions on her elbow and slight redness on her left cheek, which is what prompted the domestic battery arrest, the report said. The Brown County prosecutor’s office reduced the charge to disorderly conduct.
