One juvenile was checked out by EMS on March 30 after a two-vehicle crash on Crooked Creek Road.

The crash happened just after 5:30 p.m. near Helms Road, according to an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Eggebrecht.

Sharon K. Axsom, 61, told police she was driving northbound on Crooked Creek Road at a low rate of speed when she came around a corner and saw a vehicle driving left of center at a high rate of speed, the report states.

Axsom said she was unable to avoid a collision before both vehicles struck each other on the driver’s side.

Kenneth S. Hunter, 32, was driving the second vehicle and stated he saw Axsom’s vehicle come around the corner at a high rate of speed and left of center, the report states.

Hunter told police he was unable to avoid a collision before the vehicles struck each other.

Eggebrecht marked in his report that driving left of center was a contributing circumstance for both drivers as well as the primary cause of the crash.

He noted that the road was “noticeably narrow” where the crash occurred and the road measured to be 14 feet wide. Eggebrecht reported that the point of impact was exactly seven feet from the west side of Crooked Creek Road.

EMS was called to the scene to check out a child in Axsom’s car who had a small abrasion from a seat belt.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene and both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
