Suspects involved in pursuit flee after crash

PEOGA — Two people who police say were involved in a pursuit with the Princes Lakes Police Department fled on foot into the Brown County woods after crashing their vehicle on April 25.

A pursuit involving a gray Chevrolet Equinox was reported on Nineveh Road southbound from Lakeview in Princes Lakes at around 8:45 a.m. A short time later, the vehicle was involved in a crash. A man and a woman then fled on foot from the scene, according to a Nixle alert from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

Details on the crash weren’t immediately available, and the reason for the initial pursuit was not noted in the alert.

The man was described as white, wearing grey sweatpants, with short, brown hair. The woman was described as thin and white with blonde hair. She was wearing black pants and a gray T-shirt and had tattoos on her face and neck.

They were last seen on Beech Tree Road. Police encouraged people to call law enforcement if they saw people matching that description coming out of the woods or attempting to get a ride.
