Lorraine Mueller

Lorraine D. Mueller, 79, of Brown County, Indiana, was surrounded by her loving family when she peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Our Hospice in Columbus.

Lorraine was born July 25, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Erwin Steusloff and Edith Anderson Steusloff. She married Fredrick G. Mueller on Dec. 8, 1956. They lived in Markham, Illinois, until moving to Brown County over 20 years ago.

Fred and Lorraine were best friends who enjoyed traveling around and going to auctions together. She was a collector of many things, but “Gone with the Wind” memorabilia was her favorite. She also liked to read, garden, do jigsaw puzzles and work on her scrapbooks. The most important thing to her was her family and she loved it when they were all able to get together.

Lorraine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Fred; and their five children, Loretta (husband, Ted) Hayes, Bill (wife, Katie) Mueller, Mike Mueller, Sharon (husband, John) Kropack and Donald (wife, Pamela) Mueller. She loved her nine grandchildren, Tiffany (Nate) Tuttle, Melissa Mueller, Ashley (Jarred) Day, Crystal (Josh) Carlson, Tom Mueller, Cindy (Tim) Camp, Fred Mueller, Bob (Tiffany) Kropack and Logan Mueller; and her seven great-grandchildren, Lucas and Steele Tuttle, Max Day, Jack, Thorsen and Rose Camp and Sophia Kropack.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Edith Steusloff; her sister, Eileen Joesten; and one great-grandson, Race Tuttle.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 30 at the Salvation Army church, 168 S. Jefferson St., with a celebration of life memorial service at 2:30 p.m. at the church.

Southern Indiana Cremation Society in Martinsville handled arrangements.
