Woman not seriously hurt in crash related to pursuit

PEOGA — The two people who fled police near the Brown County-Johnson County line on April 25 crashed the vehicle they had stolen into an Edinburgh woman’s SUV.

The crash happened at about 8:45 a.m. on Nineveh Road near Beech Tree Road, according to a report from Brown County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Mike Moore. Princes Lakes officers were pursuing the stolen vehicle south on Nineveh Road into Brown County when the suspects sideswiped a Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Penny Bryant, 50, of Edinburgh.

The suspects then fled into the woods on foot. The vehicle they were in, a black 2012 Chevy Equinox, had been reported stolen out of Marion County.

Bryant’s SUV ran off the road. She complained of pain in her entire body, but did not have to be taken to a hospital after EMS checked her at the scene, the police report said. She was wearing a seatbelt. Her vehicle was towed.
