Amaire deTarnowsky Bishop

Amaire deTarnowsky Moore Bishop, 58, of Columbus, died Saturday evening, May 19, 2018 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Born Jan. 23, 1960 in Morristown, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Pierre and Carolyn (Hauser) deTarnowsky. Amaire attended DePauw University where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She then received her master’s degree in education with a specialty in special education from Indiana University-Bloomington. She worked for the Brown County School Corporation as a special education teacher and at the Career Resource Center. She was currently working for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus where she was a metallurgist and chemist. She had served as a 4-H leader working with the children with dairy goats. She loved horseback riding and serving as a lifeguard at Brown County State Park.

Amaire is survived by her loving family; her husband, Ronald Bishop of Columbus; three children, Justin deTarnowsky of Bean Blossom, Cami Moore and Win Moore, both of Columbus; one brother, Pierre (Andrea) deTarnowsky of Bean Blossom; a step-daughter, Stacy Kelly of Nashville; and eight grandchildren, Addisyn, Ava M., Aubree, Ally, Nolan, Griffin, Carter and Ava K.

Amaire was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of life will be from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 2, with a pitch-in meal at 2 p.m. at 6190 N. Railroad Rd. in Morgantown.

Private family burial was in Weeping Willow Cemetery, Bean Blossom.
